Look board

The moodboard, set up to decide a look before anything is built: a game level, an animation, a film. Sections lays out empty frames (Mood, Palette, Materials, Light, Sets, Props, Characters and UI, plus Camera for an animation or a film), and every card dropped in a frame belongs to that section; dragging a frame by its title moves its cards with it. Beside the photos, swatches and notes it has three cards of its own: a material card names a surface and a procedural material and shows it as a live swatch, a light card holds the light, and a board card links a sub-board, so sets, props or characters can have boards of their own. The Look panel in Studio shows exactly what an authoring AI reads from the board (the palette, a material per surface, the light, references by section) and lists the cards it could not place. For a game, each fighter, gang member, street, area or faction gets a frame of its own (Fighter, Beat 'em up and FPS level sections lay them out), holding its references, colours, notes and takes: pictures an image model paints in the game's own way. A reviewer selects a take and approves it or asks for changes, the AI paints another, and the approved take becomes the game's picture, colours and all, with nothing painted twice. A game made first can be read back onto a board to be refined the same way.
